As a Lecturer, I teach the Introduction to phonetics and phonology for students of Romance languages.

Since 2011 I am Titularprofessor of Italian linguistics.

  • Domains of linguistics: Descriptive and contrastive linguistics, Sociolinguistics and language contact, Bilingualism and second language acquisition
  • Levels of linguistic structure: Phonetics (Transcription, acoustics), Phonology (Phonological typology, Phonotactics),  Prosody (in particular speech rhythm), Morphology, Lexicology (loanwords) 
  • Language varieties: Italian (incl. non-standard and non-native varieties), dialects of northern and southern Italy, Rhaetoromance (Vallader), Swiss German dialects (in particular Züritüütsch)
